Hi all! Sorry it has taken me so long to post these reunion pictures. I have been an absentee blogger since my realization that: time spent on the computer = time that I'm not cleaning my house or getting other things done. Still, no excuse!
This was such a fun class and I enjoyed being with you guys and sharing your birth journeys.
At our park day we welcomed babies James, Noah, Eitan, Caroline, and Isaac. We were also joined by Tanya and David's daughter Olivia. Unfortunately we missed seeing babies Gwendolyn and Ethan due to freeway closures w/ the fires.

Reunion Pics
On Saturday I hosted a reunion for babies Desmond, Justin, and Sariah. It was great to hear this group tell their birth stories and experience their joy. I learned a few new things too: 1. Blowing raspberries during a contraction can be a helpful breathing focus and 2. If you are delivering at San Antonio Hosp. you can request to meet with the Nursing Director a few weeks before you're due and go over your birthplan. This is what Tavi did and she said all of the nurses were great and were on board. Isn't that neat? Congratulations to this great group of moms and dads!

Welcome baby James Liam!
Brittany and Mike welcomed their little boy James on Sept 2nd. She went into labor on Labor Day so she says her son has a real sense of humor. She was one week past her due date and apparently she and Mike gave baby James a "talkin' to" the night before and explained how it would be really nice if he decided to come out and how it would even be funny to be born on Labor Day. Well, I guess the womb listens, because the next day contractions started! Little James wasn't born on Labor Day though, no siree, because Brittany had a 31 hour labor. She did it! Long labors can be very difficult but she had a lot of support from Mike and from her mother who had all five of her children naturally. Breastfeeding has been a piece of cake!!
Congratulations Brittany and Mike!
Welcome baby Sariah!!
I just got the good news from Frank that baby Sariah is here! Here are his words: "Saraiah Marie was born on September 6 at 5:50 am, She weighed 8 lbs. 1 oz. and she was 19 1/2 inches long. Both baby and momma are doing great! I also want to mention how proud I am of my wife Tavi, she labored for about 27 hours without using any artificial induction methods and no drugs at all, 100% natural! San Antonio Hospital respected our wishes according to our birth plan and the nurses were great. Another thing I want to mention im proud of is that Saraiah was smiling before she was 24 hour old. Thank you to everybody who has been praying for us and to those who have showered our baby with gifts. God Bless"
Congratulations Tavi and Frank! She's beautiful!

Welcome baby Ethan James!
Alissa and Tim have their baby boy Ethan James! He weighed 6lbs 10oz and is 19 inches long. He's a good nurser according to mom and she's doing great! Alissa says she had a lot of back labor for 8 hours, but that counterpressure from Tim helped a lot. She also had great support from her mother who had her children naturally. Check out this special guy. I love the one where he's on her chest after birth. So beautiful.
Noah smiles!
Sonja sent me this pic of Noah at 6 weeks with his first big smile, and it made me smile too!!!
Noah is a sweet little guy who enjoys all the wonderful things that babies do. Principally mama's boobies. He talks and coos to them. It's rather cute and I could hear him over the phone doing this. Forget the BR'Us registery, all they need is warm mama's milk and a chest to fall asleep on afterward. Ok maybe a diaper :)
Baby Justin
Baby Desmond Russell
Deanne just sent me this pic of baby Desmond :) He's got red hair! And he's a Superstar indeed :) Deanne's nurses were so impressed with her, she said that three of them said they're going to take Bradley with their own kids. I told Deanne that I think she's found her sport. He he! Congratulations Deanne and Fred!
The Science Club
Sorry I've been a lazy blogger and haven't been posting!! Here are some pics from a recent reunion for the class I think I'll call "The Science Club". It seemed like everyone had an advanced degree in one of the sciences. I remember when I found out that there was a doctor, a biology professor, a microbiology major, AND an RN (Kathleen's mom) I started to sweat a little. These couples sure make some cutey-patootey babies and I'm glad we got to know each other so well! Here we've got baby Catalina, Laura, and Joshua!
